Many people in Germany continue energy savings long after crisis, worry about costs – survey
Almost three years after the peak of Europe’s energy crisis in 2022, many people in Germany are still trying to save energy and say their energy consumption is still lower than before the crisis ushered in by supply shortages after the coronavirus pandemic and Russia’s war on Ukraine. In a survey commissioned by energy supplier Vattenfall, a majority of 57 percent said they uphold efforts to save energy since the energy crisis and pay greater attention to the share of fossil fuels used. Roughly one in five respondents said they had stopped doing so while another 22 percent said they never changed their behaviour in the first place.
